Je pense que cette phrase n’est pas une traduction correcte de la phrase anglaise. La phrase anglaise dit simplement : « J’aimerais bien vivre près de chez toi. » Dans la phrase française, le souhait ne porte que sur la notion proximité, alors que dans l’anglaise c’est plus généralement sur le fait de vivre près de chez toi.

Pour parler de manière plus concrète, dans la phrase française le locuteur sous-entend qu’il déménagera forcément un jour (il pourrait par exemple avoir déjà décidé de la région où il habitera, mais sans savoir où exactement), mais ce n’est pas le cas dans l’anglaise (il pourrait peut-être finalement ne jamais déménager).
