Let's start a discussion on this sentence :-)
Personally, I've never heard "draw" used like this in my entire life. Does it mean "let the tea steep"?

Yes it does.

I suppose I shouldn't expect an American to know much about tea. ;-)

Pfft... I'll have you know that I drink a large teapot a day.

Also "brew" is possible?

But "brew" is transitive. Somebody has to do it... The tea can't just brew itself.

I've found: "4. (intr) to be in the process of being brewed: the tea was brewing in the pot.

Oh, ok. You're right.
Paul's right. Americans don't know anything about tea, it seems...

Maybe Americans would say "steep" after all.
I've found: 1. [I;T] to put in liquid for a period of time: The tea is steeping.

I don't think draw/steep/brew is really an American-British distinction.
But it is very possible that Brits use the more sophisticated tea vocabulary more often. Most people I know would probably just say "let the tea sit for 10 minutes".

For me only the coffee has to "sit" ;D

After your discussion, why are there no alternative sentences added? Please do so, as i dont know enough about tea and how to brew it.
