Is this a valid translation? "Homo homini lupus est". or "lupus est homo homini" seem to be the correct ones.

Maybe you are right, homini could be right instead of hominis. But I have to find my source. Cannot tonight. Pls wait few days.

Laut Wikipedia ist "Homo hominis lupus est." eine (der korrekten) Formulierungen. Auch im Deutschen gibt es ja mehrere Möglichkeiten.

"Der Mensch ist dem Menschen ein Wolf".
"Der Mensch ist des Menschen Wolf".

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass
"Homo hominis lupus"
dem deutschen "Der Mensch, des Menschen Wolf" entspricht, was ja auch nicht falsch ist (allerdings kann diese Redewendung schon nicht mehr als Sprichwort durchgehen). Da aber Tatoeba ganze Sätze haben möchte, ist es besser das "est" noch anzuhängen, oder was meinst du, Hans?

Allerdings sind (wir) Lateiner ja gerne lakonisch kurz.

Ausserdem: Wg. der knapper werdenden Rohstoffe & Energievorräte kommt ist sparen angesagt. :-))
