"apeller" may be understood in Polish are referring either to the first or last name (mieć na imię or nazywać się), depending on the formality between interlocutors (this is reflected in the translations)

@silvermane: You commented the French sentence when I think you wanted to comment your Polish translation or maybe the English sentence. You also linked your Polish translations to this same French sentence.
