Hi, I'm André or "Vortarulo" (because I collect dictionaries). I studied Linguistics and Chinese Studies in Leipzig, Germany, and then did my PhD in comparative linguistics in Zurich, Switzerland. Nowadays I teach German as a second language in my hometown. Many of the German sentence on Tatoeba are unfortunately quite unnatural and sound highly stilted, so I try to add a more common, natural wording.

If you want me to translate some sentences you're interested in to German, Esperanto or Klingon, or if you'd like to have example sentences for a certain word in those languages, feel free to ask me in a PM and I'll be happy to help.

I am also learning Middle Egyptian and Demotic, but those aren't languages supported by Tatoeba... yet. ;)

I sometimes do translate from languages not listed below, like Ukrainian, Italian, Portuguese, Ido. This is usually because I do understand the particular sentences through Russian or Spanish or Esperanto.
