hey I’m Glossa.I like west Germanic languages such as low saxon and Dutch, Now studying linguistics in the university.
interested in Dutch dialects.
My motherlanguage is Mandarin and Wu.Send me a message if you need help with them!^_^
Wu has many dialects. There is a big gap between the various dialects of Wu. It has a history of nearly three thousand years and has been formed since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. I speak Shanghainese because I born in Shanghai,China.I can also speak some Wu in Hangzhou too. I can use Wu Chinese alphabet to spell, but my input method can’t type them. I'm trying to use homophonic spelling, but the effect is not satisfactory. Maybe I should use the International Phonetic Alphabet?lol
Some dialects of Wu:
Shanghai dialect, Suzhou dialect, Hangzhou dialect. There is also Wenzhou dialect, which is considered very difficult to understand. These are dialects that I am familiar with, and there are many more that I am not going to enumerate one by one.
Wu is not taught in the school, but Shanghai will hold a recitation competition about Wu. Most competitions are open to middle school students, and pupils.
I'd like to talk with people who love languages or dialects.click me!:)
