Dã mõ nòpinyõ, i fo s'débarasé dé zãfã đ'ťyĩ kòm tué si õ vö libéré a klăs uvriyay. Tą bĩ reyzõ mõ nòsţi d'Ualõ, s'pą ḑũ Frãhā, sé ḑü KÉBÉKUA a lã̮g da liberté. Mé j'vö a révòlüsyõ kõt é zoprimắ kòm tué: VIV LȨ KÉBEK LÌB!!
(A ça ira, ça ira, ça ira,
les aristocrates à la lanterne,
A ça ira, ça ira, ça ira,
les aristocrates on les pendra!)
Va chier."
Je pense qu'une telle grossièreté et agressivité, bien que pas unique, est inacceptable sur un tel site.
Je suggère que l'admin dise à ce dingue d'aller se faire soigner, et, comme ça risque d'être long vu l'état, de lui supprimer son compte.
Merci également de changer le drapeau de ses phrases en phonétique qui ne sont pas du français.

I believe "phonetic" spellings and other self-made orthographies should have the same status as conlangs: unless they enjoy a decent user base, they shouldn't be used on Tatoeba.

Not only has phonetic French no user base at all, but it is not even productible from a French keyboard, be it Canadian, Congolese or Antartican...
So you have to be completely wacko to go at such great lengths as to type it in any case...

Feature request.
It would be nice to have an option to be informed by e-mail on new translations of 'favorite' sentences. Or - better - add a new category for 'tracked sentences'.

Help,
I can't tag my sentences, so it doesn't appear when I search
for a verb inside. So, I feel that my contributions are
for nothing, since they don't appear when I look them up.

You can't find sentences you added during the last few days, because they are not yet registered for searching. After a week (at maximum) you will find them.

thanks

I want to translate sentences, but there is no option for Brazilian Portuguese. Please, could you add Portuguese from Brazil?
Thank you!

As far as I know until now there was seen no need to have different sentence collections for European and Brazilian Portuguese. There are used tags to identify special words or expressions not common in both variations of Portuguese. The addition proposed by you will be possible, if a discussion between native speakers will come to the conclusion that changes are desirable.

Well, if there is just one option for English, so it should be fine for Portuguese too. Thanks!

https://docs.google.com/documen...hl=en_US&pli=1

Welcome to Tatoeba!
Please don't be irritated by the Flags. There has been a Lot of discussion whether to use them at all.
I am (as i dont speak either Portugese or Brasilian Portugese) not certain about this case, but I gieß that the difference between the two languages/dialects is too small to consider them as two separate languages. However there certainly is the possibility to add a tag (there already should be One for Brazilian portugese).

Hi,
This might be a rather selfish request, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to add in an option to turn off the furigana in Japanese sentences? I'm not saying they're not useful (they are!) but sometimes they do clutter up the page a bit.
Thanks! :-)

Furigana can be easily hidden with an userscript (in fact, user CSS would suffice, but I don't know how to set it ^^").
The GreaseMonkey-compatible script is as follows:
---[start]---
// ==UserScript==
// @name Tatoeba_no_Furigana
// @namespace tatoeba_no_furigana
// @description Hides Furigana on Tatoeba
// @include http://tatoeba.org/*
// @include http://www.tatoeba.org/*
// ==/UserScript==
function addGlobalStyle(css) {
var head, style;
head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0];
if (!head) { return; }
style = document.createElement('style');
style.type = 'text/css';
style.innerHTML = css;
head.appendChild(style);
}
addGlobalStyle('div.furigana { display: none !important; }');
---[end]---
(This will hide only furigana. If you want to hide Chinese romanisations too, replace «div.furigana» with «div.romanization».)
[FIREFOX + GREASEMONKEY]
If you use Firefox, you need an addon Greasemonkey (or a compatible alternative) to create userscripts. After you install it, you can create a new script (choose arbitrary name and namespace, it doens't matter) and set "Included pages" to the following:
---[start]---
http://tatoeba.org/*
http://www.tatoeba.org/*
---[end]---
[OPERA]
If you use Opera, you can save the script code to a file with extenstion ".user.js" (for example, "tatoeba_no_furigana.user.js") in the user javescript folder.
To find out what is your user javascript folder (or to change its location) in Opera, open the menu Tools [設定 in Chinese version] > Preferences [功能設定] > Advanced [進階] > Content [內容], then click on the JavaScript Options [JavaScript 選項] button.
[OTHER BROWSERS]
If you use Chrome, it also can be done, but I don't have Chrome at hand. ^^"

I think it would be Even better to make the Icon above the Chinese sentences clickable to toggle the furigana.
And you should Upload your Script to userscripts.org so we can reference to ist in the Future.

I seriously doubt there are many people who need this functionality. :P (In fact, I believe Nick Yeow is the only one. xD)
So I'm not going to support or expand this script.
The best idea (for Japanese) is to REPLACE the raw sentence with furigana. Since furigana is written over the kanji (and not instead of it), it can be safely used instead of the raw sentence... But I'm not going to implement this. :)

There are several extensions for Firefox that add furigana to any Japanese text on the page and do a plenty of various helpful things. I mean there is no need to reinvent the wheel at that field.

Worked like magic. Thanks! ;-)

Hej, gratulon, 1 500 000 frazoj, unu kaj duona miliono! :-)

Dankon precipe al ĉiuj regulaj kontribuantoj!
Ek al la dua miliono!

Vobis congratulor! Collectis multis gentibus, facile erit multas sententias habere. Cum Tatoebam inveni, vix usque ad viginti milia sententiarum Lusitanicarum possidebat, hodie plus quam septuaginta!

안녕! 여기 오늘 처음 알게 되었는데 좋은 걸. 재밌기도 하고. 자주 올것 같아.
Hi! I learned this project today. It is good and seems fun. I would come by often.

Bienvenue aux contributeurs en coréen !

Welcome to Tatoeba. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

예문을 많이 써서 감사합니다!

why i can't see sentences in bulgarian, chinese, danish, finnish, hungarian, icelandic, interlingua, low saxon, persian, polish, serbian, swedish etc.?

did you change your language configuration??
you language configuration determines which language will be displayed in your account

I think this is what he means:
http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentence...ne/indifferent
http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentence...ne/indifferent
http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentence...ne/indifferent

Oui, il y a un bug en ce moment sur les listes par langue...

Does anyone know why pinyin (phonetic spelling) has vanished from Chinese search results, and whether it will be back? It's greatly missed.
Thanks -- Jim

interesting,
there's also no distintion between simplified and traditional Chinese sentences anymore...
