Гм. Разве это не устойчивое выражение? Может, правильнее было бы "я хуже тебя"?

Устойчивое? Сомневаюсь. Современное 不如 действительно обозначает "хуже". Если у китайцев неравенство с собой автоматически исключает похвальбу, то ты прав. Но из самой фразы это не следует! Я бы просто добавил второй перевод.
