Sincere mi ne vidas tiun eblecon en Esperanto. Normale, la subjunktivo en Esperanto estas farita per u-verboj. Verdire la stilo de Esperanto estas havi la tempon de la verbo en la cxefa propozicio. En la sub-propozio gxi venas al tempo kiun vi volas marki, cxu pasintece, nunece aux estontece. Subjunktivo estas fakte imaga situacio, kiun fakte ne okazis, do en tiu situacio se tradukante el la portugala gxi devas esti u-vorto. Vidu kion diras Bertilo em PMEG: "La ke-frazo povas montri ekz. celon, opinion aŭ eblon rilate al la ĉeffrazo. Tiam oni ofte uzu volan modon, U-modon, en la ke-frazo, sed ne ĉiam." En la supra senco estas do "opinio" kaj falas en tiu situacio.

"kapabli vidi" ne estas "opinio" ĉi tie, ĉar estas estinteco, do ni scias ke estis tro malhele por kapabli vidi...
