it's a lie. Chimps do certainly as well, and possibly dolphins...

But we shoudn't forget that only humans can laugh an inhuman laughter.

Well it need not be a lie, it could be that the author is just wrong and doesn't know it!

your perception of "lie" is obviously that it is intentional. A lie doesn't need to be intentional to be a lie. A lie is just a stated non-truth. If you're wrong and don't state your view publicly, you're just wrong. But if you insist that your "wrong" should be made public, then it becomes a lie...

CK wrote (and subsequently erased, as usual...) :
"sabretou,
My dictionaries define a lie as ...
an intentionally false statement
an untrue statement with intent to deceive
It probably would be better if we used a tag such as "untrue" instead of "lie."
"
=> Well, this is completely contradictory.
If you post something which is untrue while you know it, then it is your intention to do so. Then it becomes a lie...you can't possibly tag something "untrue" while not knowing it is...

We had decided to do away with the tags lie and controversial. Let's not start with this again. Lies or controversies can be mentioned in the comments. I suggest deletion of the tags here and elsewhere.
