"Awesome" harika, müthis veya mükemmel anlamına geliyor.
"Korkunç", "awful" demek.

awesome da korkunç anlamı taşıyor. Hangi sözlüğü kullanıyorsun. Bana adresini atar mısın?

Duran, I am going to write in English since my Turkish is not so good.
After I read your comment, I looked up "awesome" and was surprised to find web links that say that it can also mean "dreadful" and "horrible." I have always known "awesome" to have a positive meaning.

One of the definitions for "awesome" in Merriam-Webster's dictionary is: causing feelings of fear and wonder. Even so, the "fear" here is one of awe and admiration, e.g. "I stand in God's awesome presence with fear and trembling."
As the examples in Merriam-Webster's show, "awesome" has a positive meaning:
- expressive of awe <awesome tribute>
- inspiring awe <an awesome task>
- terrific, extraordinary <had an awesome time>
- the awesome sight of an erupting volcano (intimidating and ominous, yet inspires awe and wonder)
- It was an awesome responsibility.
- We had an awesome task ahead of us. (This sentence suggests that the task is overwhelming and challenging, even welcomed, but not necessarily dreadful or awful.)
- We had an awesome time at the concert.
- You did an awesome job on that project.
- The movie was totally awesome.
"Korkunç," as I understand it, has a negative meaning: scary, frightening, objectionable, loathsome. That is why I said that "korkunç" would be better translated as "awful." Consequently "awesome" would be better translated as "harika," "müthis," "mükemmel" or some other similarly positive word.

OK. Thanks.
