I don't see anything wrong with this translation. I've asked my teacher and she said it was right. Our interpretations are merely different; my sentence will therefore stay as-is.

You write "is not", but the sentence is not a negation.

Well, OK I see what you mean. I would at least put the negation on "acknowledge". "A woman is a creature that doesn't acknowledge."
