I would even use تلك here

I think that here, we're just showing a tree without stressing on whether it's near or far. I looked at the translations in other languages such as French and Spanish, and they don't seem to refer to a distant tree. That's why I chose "هذه".

Do you think "eso" in Spanish doesn't point that the tree is farther that it would be with "esto"?

Well, but the French, German and Esperanto translations can all be translated with the above Arabic sentence.

Nevertheless, you can always add a variant with "تلك".

Okay, thank you. By the way, is there a femenine version of ذاك which would be something middle between this and that?

You're welcome.
I think that "تلك" is the feminine form of both "ذاك" and "ذلك". If there's another feminine form of "ذاك", I don't know it :-p
