Does the Hebrew translate "in" as "in the house"?

Yes, "in the house" would be ba-bait.
The "in" becomes a prefix, so when nothing follows ,like home, cannot say "ba" alone.
As the sentence says only "in", it was translated as "closed" (somewhere).
