Thank you. I didn't know. I think that it's only popular in Japan. It sounds a bit dangerous to me. But I understand the reasoning:
首後ろは大きい血管がいっぱい流れているから良いらしいです。

Some people also recommend to use アイス枕. Here, we only use ice pillows rarely and to relieve neck pain. At least, I've never heard of using them when it's hot.
