Wenn das keine Nachricht aus dem Jenseits ist, dann besser:

Ich ging, sehr warm angezogen, hinaus; deswegen wäre ich (od.: hinaus und wäre) vor Hitze fast gestorben.

Sagt man auf spanisch wirklich "Ich starb vor Hitze"?

Yes, it may sound a bit strange, but, like this example, when you say "me morí de calor" ("Ich sterbe von Hitze") we understand that you mean "there was a stifling heat."
