Tal vez la frase es demasiado directa si la usas en un tienda, etc.

Tienes toda la razón, pero la verdad es que es la única traducción que se podría hacer de la frase francesa (y de la inglesa) sin modificarla...
Así que he añadido la etiqueta de "rude" para dejar claro que no sería muy educado decirlo así.

Es que en inglés puedes cambiar el contexto y que no esté ocurriendo en una tienda, sino ponerte en la situación de que estás hablando con un amigo diciéndole "este no me gusta, enséñame otro" porque está ayudándote a escoger alguna cosa y entonces no suena tan "rude" :P
