Kvankam la knabo estas la objekto, ĝi ankaŭ estas realmonda subjekto de "esti". (Realmonda signifas, oni komprenas la knabon kiel subjekton de esti pro ĝia funkcio en la situacio de la reala mondo, sendepende ĉu ĝi gramatike estas subjekto aŭ be) Tiu ago estas pli proksima al la pronomo kaj sekve la pronomo "sia" resendas al la knabo kiel subjekto de "esti".
