shows us a --> shows a (better: reveals a)
no comma
style: Use intensifiers like "great" sparingly. A contradiction is a contradiction; and--at least to logicians--is always a big deal.
writing system: The meaning is unclear. Every language has a sound system. Most modern languages with large numbers of speakers also have writing systems. Some writing systems are alphabetic, some syllabic, and some logographic.
But I doubt that's what you're talking about.

Thank you!
I feel that "shows" is more appropriate here, than "reveals".
I try to follow style of source text, written by Russian language. This is piece of text, that was written in USSR 1930's years, in time of Communist tyranny. This article of Communist brain-washing tries to prove, that Latin ABC is appropriate for Communist society, while Russian Cyrillic one is counter-revolutionary, and must be abandoned.

Thanks for the revealing explanation.
show vs. reveal: It's your choice and there's nothing wrong with it. My preference for "reveal"? Partly it's a matter of rhythm and perceived frequency in similar contexts. These are of course subjective--but based on a lifetime of observation. In many contexts there is no difference in the meaning, although the idea of "uncover" is perhaps a little more closely associated with "reveal" than "show." (I should also prefer "uncover" to "show" in this sentence.) Here's a pair of phrases where the two words are not equally suitable:
"reveals for the first time"
"shows yet again"

Thank you for you explanation and examples.
Nevertheless, I still cannot choose of words "shows" and "reveals" for this sentence. That is meaning of this sentence:
"It is strange and inconsistent that modern press of advanced Communist society still uses obsolete and counter-revolutionary Cyrillic alphabet".

I understand, thanks to your explanation. I still prefer "reveal" as indicating something that might not be obvious until pointed out; but it is your choice; and "show" is both correct and natural in this sentence. What I'm saying is that my preference for "reveal" is not important; and your choice of "show" is OK.

Thank you! I followed your advice.
