This doesn't work. Ingenuous is not quite synonymous with naïve, because naïve, a much commoner word, has collected with use a halo of pejorative connotations that ingenuous, hardly ever used, has not. The effect is that naïve has come to mean too ingenuous. The pattern A, but B requires tension between A and B. "I like Maria, but she is very ingenuous" fails to match the pattern in the same way as "I like Maria, but she is very nice."

Cognates are not to be trusted. Dictionaries don't tell you what words mean. They offer only clues, which must be supplemented by extensive knowledge.

There are many English sentences on Tatoeba that have not been translated into Portuguese. Some that have been translated into European Portuguese might benefit from alternate translations with a Brazilian flavor.

No response after two weeks. Changing from "ingenuous" to "naïve".

It probably is, but I chose the spelling that halfb1t suggested.
