La phrase française est grammaticalement correcte mais dans quel contexte prononce-t-on la phrase japonaise ?
Faudrait-il traduire ainsi :
Jamais je n'ai imaginé te (ou : vous) rencontrer ici(, pas même en rêve).

On dirait la phrase japonaise à quelqu'un qu'on a rencontré dans un endroit imprévu. La phrase anglaise aussi, je crois. D'après LDOCE, "never dreamed that" est "used to say that you did not think that something would happen". Ça n'a pas de rapport avec le rêve qu'on fait en dormant.
Dans ce cas, on utilise en français le mot « imaginer » au lieu de « rêver » ?
