Will 「彼の車」 match English better? Or is it already clear enough that Mary was made to wash Tom's car, not any other car?

必ずしも明瞭ではありませんが、大抵のひとはトムの車だと読み取ってくれるんじゃないかと思って省きました。
「彼の車」とはぼくなら多分言いません。言うなら「自分の車」ですが、「トムはメアリーに自分の車を洗わせた」だと、トムの車だかメアリーの車だか分からなくなるので、「トムは自分の車をメアリーに洗わせた」とすると確実でしょう。これも加えておきますね。
