I wonder if there any difference between "образ жизни" and "стиль жизни".

There's a fine difference. "Way of life" is related to the culture of a comunity. "Life style" implies an individual choice. But to make life less complicated "образ жизни" may be enough here.

That's not necessary so, I think. All depends on the context. For example, "Я веду нездоровый образ жизни" relates to my and only my way of life (or life style). :-)

Sorry, I was thinking only about the use of the English words, which meaning is rendered in German by "Lebensweise" and "Lebensstil". I understand that the meaning and use of the Russian words of course may be different.

Yep, that's right. "стиль" is a loanword in Russian and, as many other loanwords do, it has native synonyms. Usually, loanwords have wider meanings or introduce nuances non-existent in native synonyms. One of the meanings of "стиль" in Russian is, surprisingly, "образ жизни". :-)
