I can't address the Japanese translation, but "You acted after your nature."
really ought to be:

"You acted according to your nature."
or
"You acted in accordance with your nature."

I also wonder if the "would" in the second sentence might be better as "could."

Should I just create new English sentences to improve on the "English" that's there, even if it might not correctly reflect the Japanese?

Perhaps one of our Japanese contributors (bunbuku, tommy_san) could be convinced to change the Japanese into a good sentence, and then the English sentence could be adapted to match the Japanese. This may be easier than the other way round. Or we could just dispose of both sentences or one of them if everyone agrees, or no one objects. The second part of the English sentence is completely missing in the Japanese translation.

Many of these unowned English-Japanese pairs aren't very good and no one has taken care of them so far, but sooner or later we'll have to decide what to do with each one of them.

You acted after your nature. Think of all the trouble you would give him. [M]
