Please, help translate the phrase - "he stood from the wall". Is it like - "walk away"?

In this context it means more like "stood next to" or "stood near". It is technically incorrect use of "from" but intentional I think. As this is creative writing, the author must have decided to use "stood from" as it creates better imagery for the scene and character.

Thanks!
