Does 夢を語り合う means something like "to dream aloud", "to fall into a reverie"?

tommy_san tommy_san June 23, 2013 June 23, 2013 at 4:10:36 PM UTC flag Report link Permalink

They talked about their dreams (their wishes). ☺

I see. :-) But can we be more poetic describing their pastime, such as "they were lost in reverie", "they were stargazing"? :-)

Well, I guess it's too hard to discuss this in English....
It'd be a good idea that you post your Russian suggestion here. I hope Pfirsichbaeumchen will be able to help you.

OK, let's try. :-) It maybe somewhat far from the original Japanese, though, but I imagine something like this:
Под сенью звёздного неба, забыв о времени, Том и Мэри предавались мечтам. (~ Under the canopy of starry sky, having forgotten about time, Tom and Mary got lost in reverie.)

Насколько я могу судить, это очень поэтический и подходящий перевод 2000-го японского предложения Фомушки. ☺

:D
Thanks, Lisa. :-)
It seems you have invented a great nickname for Tommy. If he ever decide to learn Russian, he won't have to think twice choosing his Russian nickname. :-)

Lisa has named you Фомушка (Fomushka, フォームシカ). Фома (Foma) is Russian version of Thomas and Fomushka is affectionate diminutive for Foma just like Tommy for Thomas. Sounds very cute. ;-)

Sounds cute! ^^
