По-моему, здесь будет лучше употребить глагол в настоящем времени: солнце светит. А то как-то нехорошо сочетается 'светило' и 'уже' =)

По-моему, само "уже века" не сочетается.

В голландском варианте "уже века" вполне себе сочетается. А вот время я случайно использовал прошедшее, хотя в голландском варианте было настоящее. Но окей, соглашусь на более литературный перевод.
