Welcome to Tatoeba
Tatoeba doesn't allow brackets within a sentence. I don't know Japanese but I studied translation. I think that by the brackets you want to show that the word "people" is not in the Japanese, but is necessary in English. That is a legitimate translation device called "amplification". So without the brackets the sentence should be perfect.:)

I think that the quotations around "people" make the sentence very odd. Like you're really talking about robots or something.
