「今日の晩ご飯はカレーがいいな。」
これは夕食を決める人に向かって言う言葉で、この発言の結果実際に夕食がカレーライスになる可能性があります。

あ、すみません、It'd be great ... が合わないと思うってつもりではありませんでした。これもいいと思いますよ。ぼくが考えていた訳があったのでそれもありかどうかをお聞きしたかっただけです。

ちなみにこの文はさっき5歳ぐらいの子供が母親に言っていたものです。大人が使っても問題ありません。

「カレーがいいな」は「カレーが食べたい（な）」とほぼ同じ意味ですが、実際の日本人は「食べたい」よりも「いいな」と言うことが多い気がします。
