I think Tom is drunk > Sanırım Tom sarhoş > Tom'un sarhoş olduğunu düşünüyorum.
No problem about them but they don't have the same tense, one of them is past, the other is present.

I would say both are correct translations... as far as I know olduğunu can mean both "is" and "was"... But Duran is the native speaker here.
