文章の後ろにある「な」はただの「ね」の入れ替わりみたいなものだったら、はい、aren't youを取り除いたらだめだと思います。しかし、この文章の「な」は相手の馬鹿さを強調するためのものだったら、aren't youを取り除いて感嘆符をつけたほうがいいと思います。英訳には感嘆符だけでなく言葉でも相手の馬鹿さとか自分の感情を強調したければ、以下の訳のほうが一番いいです。

この「な」は「自分の判断、主張であることを示す」（『小学館日本語新辞典』）用法だと思います。
普通に You're really a hopeless idiot. でいいのではないでしょうか？
