Did you deliberately choose "would it take" instead of "does it take"?
Certainly, the German sentence can be understood as a hypothetical question, but it is not explicitly hypothetical. (--> Wie lange bräuchten wir / würden wir brauchen)

I’m still pondering about Dejo’s German version:
I would say for example: "Wie lange brauchen wir, um mit dem Bus dort hinzugelangen?"
(like in your sentence: get there instead of go there)

I agree "does it take" is better than "would it take". I wanted to put "How long do we need..." but it doesn't sound as natural in English.
I have amended the translation to "does it take"
