certainty ??

I agree, I think that is more correct translation of vished. Belief sounded more natural to my ears, but it may have lost some of the meaning.

Er "Belief" og "Certainty" ikke snarere modsætninger.
Både "Faith" og "Belief" oversættes til "tro" på dansk,
så den tidligere sætning ville kunne oversættes til
Tro er tro uden beviser.

I definitely wouldn't say belief and certainty are opposites, but belief is a word that implies that you take something to be certain, even without proof. Faith is similar, but exclusively used in a religious context
I feel that if one says "faith is certainty without evidence" one is framing religious faith negatively, whereas if one says "Faith is belief without evidence" one could be framing faith as a postive thing. It is a difficult one this, to capture the essence of the sentence. Ultimately I think "certainty" is a more direct translation.
I think this is a good question.
