BTW Only yesterday I did this German translation [#3269580] from the Dutch. If that's not on your radar, I'll do a quick non-native translation (no guarantee) for you: French is the only language in which punctuation marks consisting of two elements have a space in front of them.
I had not known this before and I checked it. And there seems to be some truth in it. See for example [#1581952] or [#1329165] or [#1600882].
All of that made me think that I might be secretly French and my parents hadn't told me about it.
