Turkish translation needed.

I'd say:

I'll only attend the party if Mary doesn't.

A more "natural" sentence in a real situation might be:

The president will sign the bill only if the Republicans agree to not pursue the Benghazi case.

Using this pattern, my sentence would become:

I will attend the party only if Mary will not attend the party.

...which sounds odd. Yes, I can imagine actually saying "I will attend the party only if Mary will not." Sort of like saying: "A = B [if and] only if C = D" in algebra.

Basically I want to know how the sentence would be translated in Turkish. Since the "if clause" seems to always come first in Turkish, my sentence would necessarily be reworded to become "I will attend the party only if Mary will not attend the party." (Sadece Mary partiye katılmayacaksa, ona katılacağım. ???)

I agree this sentence is understandable but slightly awkward English.

How about this instead:

I'll attend the party only if Mary doesn't come.

"Yalnızca Mary katılmazsa, partiye katılacağım."
