You mean, why do people say things like "I wish there was no Christmas."? Well, Christmas is a family holiday people love since their very childhood and celebrate with the closest relatives and beloved ones. So, if one have no people to celebrate this day with, he can easily fall into depression watching how other people celebrate Christmas, I guess.
