Dankfest? Dankfeier ?

Es gibt das Wort „Erntedankfest“ – in Deutschland in der Regel der erste Sonntag im Oktober.

Aber für das amerikanische Fest höre ich eigentlich nur „Thanksgiving“, nicht „das (amerikanische) Erntedankfest“.

So, wie man zu Halloween „Halloween“ sagt, und nicht „der Abend vor Allerheiligen“.

Das sieht man zwar manchmal geschrieben, ist aber meiner Erfahrung nach sehr unüblich. Das wäre ungefähr so, wie wenn man Toast „Röstbrot“ nennen würde (habe ich auch schon gesehen).

Abgesehen davon ist konkret für Thanksgiving ein anderes Wort angebracht, weil (wie Wikipedia sagt) das amerikanische Fest „aber stark vom Fest nach europäischen Traditionen ab[weicht]“. Thanksgiving ist einfach nicht das, was man sich unter „Erntedankfest“ vorstellt.
