Estou com preguiça de pesquisar agora, mas me parece estranha a sequência "línguas" e "a não têm"...

Houve um lapso. A palavra correta é "língua" no singular. Modernamente diríamos "não a têm".
Machado, às vezes, usa uma sintaxe incomum. Grato.
