De, a fordítással van a gond. Ugyanis nem semmit nem tud magáról, hanem semmit nem a magáéról (tehát a saját anyanyelvéről). Máskülönben Goethe az idézet szerzője...

Több magyar fordítása is van ennek a Goethe-idézetnek, például:

Aki nem ismer idegen nyelveket, semmit sem tud a sajátjáról.

Aki nem ismer idegen nyelveket, mit sem tud a magáéról.

Nem ismerheti jól az anyanyelvét az az ember, aki nem beszél idegen nyelveket.
