新美南吉「赤い蝋燭」（1936年）より。

　山から里の方へ遊󠄁びにいつた猿が一本の赤い蠟燭を拾ひました。赤い蠟燭は澤山あるものではありません。それで猿は赤い蠟燭を花󠄁火だと思い込󠄁んでしまひました。
　猿は拾った赤い蠟燭を大事に山へ持って歸りました。
