Ne faudrait-il pas dire: Ce livre coûte 5 dollars?
Les autres versions disent "Le prix de ce livres est 5 dollars"
(Peut-être le livre ne vaut plus rien :)

Hello,
effectivement, il serait plus précis de dire "Ce livre coûte 5 dollars" ou "le prix de ce livre est 5 dollars".
Mais comme c'est une phrase que l'on entend partout dans les magasins, le verbe valoir a pris le sens premier de "avoir pour prix".

Je propose de rajouter les autres comme traductions alternatives ? :)

Bonne idée. Mais je laisse cela aux Francophones nés (est-ce comme ça qu'on doit dire? En espéranto: denaske franclingvaj)
