I think naturally it would be a sound like 'ach', but that doesn't really come across well in written form. I wonder if crap is better. It needs to be some kind of interjection.

あちっ is expressing pain, or hotness. So I think ouch is natural because I would definitely say it. Honestly though, I would probably say the more speech style New Zealand version which is just 'Ow'. Either that or just nothing at all. I'll change it back to ouch for now.

Ok, I'll change it to ow. Its hard because I sometimes don't know what is NZ and what isn't. I know for certain that things like 'thats cool as' are new zealand. and 'im keen'. but thats only coz i once tried to say them to an American friend and they were like 'huh'?.
