
It seems that the French translation of this sentence kind of contradicts the English and Dutch ones. Are both interpretations possible? Or is it ironic, maybe?

オランダ語は読めませんしフランス語も英語も(that が引っかかります)自信ないのですが、一人目の発言は「めっちゃいい匂いするよね」と言って相手に同意を求めていて、二人目はそれに同意しています。

I’m not sure I understand your reply correctly, but I think the question in French cannot mean 「めっちゃいい匂いするよね」。

@Wezel I think the French is correct. Maybe you’re being misled by the use of “pas”, which is used here to look for the approbation of the interlocutor, just like “しない” in the present sentence. If not, can you explain what’s wrong?
