
This is a litterally translated idiom, I believe a better translation would be ''...as drunk as a post''.

Anyway, the Danish and German translators have chosen for 2 translations, one idiom and one much like your suggestion. I find that a suitable solution.

One of TRANG's guidelines is to not change things that are correct, even if they are archaic, so I guess this needs to stay the way it is.
