
I think I'll argue to keep the 'it's'. Yes it doesn't seem perfectly grammatical, but in common language I think this is very common. Such as "what are you drinking?" "Oh, it's a new flavour of coke." or "Is this the new piece you've been working on? What are you painting this time?" "Its a horse, but you can't tell yet."
