Dubigas min "en". Ĉiuj ekzemploj en PIV ( http://vortaro.net/#redukti ) uzas "redukti al".

Tamen, oni ja rajtas diri "transformi en +akuz".

PIV -> la tonoj de la diskantulo transformiĝis en najtingalojn

Kial estus escepto ĉi tie. Kial, kun iu verbo, oni rajtas apliki regulon, kiu ne plu validus kun alia verbo en relative simila situacio? Kelkaj jam rebatis en tiu retejo, ke finfine Esperanto ne estas tiom facila.
Por mi,"al cindroj" en tiu ekzemplo estas preskaŭ ekvivalento de "en cindrojn".
