
The 2nd item isn't a sentence.
In English, we'd usually combine both of these into one sentence.
==> The earth is blue like an orange.

The second item is absolutely a sentence, and it is totally fine to keep them separate. Not everyone speaks using perfectly proper grammar all the time.

That's actually the title of a poem.
The literary translation is: The World is Blue as an Orange
