Der englische Satz ist schwer verständlich. Allerdings erscheint der deutsche Relativsatz keine große Beziehung zum englischen Original zu haben.

Losgelöst von allen Kontexten verstehe ich ihn so: ..., die zu seiner Vormachtstellung beitrugen.

Viel Sinn kann ich aus allem nicht entnehmen. Aber das liegt vielleicht an meiner Beschränktheit.
