Oui, c'est amusant parce que vous n'avez pas bien lu la page que vous citez :

"Commencer de se dirait d'une action circonscrite, qui ne suppose pas de développement, qui ne tend pas à un but."

Donc, dans « préparer le dîner », il y a un but : c'est que le dîner soit prêt.
De fait, l'usage sanctionne cet emploi en l'occurence.

Je suis français, le français est ma 1ère langue, et en 54 ans de vie, je n'ai jamais entendu quiconque dire « commencer DE préparer un repas ».
