Me suena algo raro. Quizá:
"I ran into Tom walking from school this morning."

We''d much more likely say "this morning" than "today in the morning."
More naturally, we don't say "walking from the school", but would say something like "walking home from school."
However, it does seem strange that someone would be walking home from school in the morning.

Hecho.

I wonder why he's walking home from school so early.
